A Makeover Day for My room and Life :)

Yesterday was an off day for me. I was suppose to hang out with Phaik Ling for breakfast at Old town. But it didn't work out anyways, so in short I woke up early for nothing. -.-
I spent the whole morning online, with my door locked. Parents thought I was sleeping lols. Till then, even I'm hungry my ass can't seem to part from my chair for even an inch. But of course, I did had my "breakfast" at around 12.30pm :chilled wan tan mee. Hmm.
After all those threatenings mom kept tossing to me, I finally get myself started by clearing up my garbage-trash-looked-alike-room. Haha! To be honest, I'm really a very lam nua person. When I collect my clothes from the laundry, outta ten times, only two or three times I would really fold them up nicely and put them in my closet. Most of the time, I let them lay comfortably on my bed. And when it's time to sleep, I will throw them to my chair, sometimes my clothes would drop onto the floor but I wouldn't bother to pick them up. So when the next day I will continue to dump them back to the bed when I wanna sit on my chair, the cycle repeats until I kammuan fold them up. Haha!
So, I was a very good girl yesterday! I cleared my table, swept and mopped the floor, wipe the windows and tables, wash the curtains, and change my bed sheet! I'm such a wonderful future housewife!

After all those cleanups, I went out with Jen at night. We hang out at McD and talked for more than an hour. I had a great time honestly. I feel that I can talk about anything with her. I meant ANYTHING lol. Maybe many people feels the same way too, coz she's a very nice person :)

Some pictures we took together during the outing!

                                                   McD big sausage-looked-alike smiley :]

The evidence to prove the pic weren't edited ;)

Hahaha! Jen kept saying my smiley very shiny and perli the toothpaste I used! So here I present the two Darlie's toothpaste spokeswomen!! Lols!

Btw, I break the record by on-ing my computer from 10am till 1am, which is 15 hours my gawd..

A Test Of Love

John Blanchard stood up from the bench, straightened his Army uniform, and studied the crowd of people making their way through Grand Central Station.

He looked for the girl whose heart he knew, but whose face he didn’t, the girl with the rose. His interest in her had begun 13months before in a Florida library. Taking a book off the shelf he found himself intrigued, not with the words of the books, but with the notes penciled in the margin.

The soft handwriting reflected thoughtful soul and insightful mind. In the front of the book, he discovered the previous owner’s name, Miss Hollis Maynell.

With time and effort he located her address. She lived in New York City. He wrote her a letter introducing himself and inviting her to correspond. The next day he was shipped overseas for service in World War II.

During the next year, the two grew to know each other through the mail. Each letter was a seed falling on a fertile heart. A romance was budding.

Blanchard requested a photograph, but she refused. She felt that if he really cared, it wouldn’t matter what she looked like.

When the day finally came for him to return from Europe, they scheduled their first meeting- 7pm at the Grand Central Station in New York.

“You’ll recognize me,” she wrote, “by the red rose I’ll be wearing on my lapel.”

So at 7pm he was in the station looking for a girl whose heart he loved, but whose face he’d never seen.

I’ll let Mr. Blanchard tell you what happened:

A young woman was coming towards me, her figure long and slim. Her blonde hair lay back in curls from her dedicate ears; her eyes were blue as flowers. Her lips and chin had a gentle firmness, and in her pale green suit she was like a springtime come alive.

I started towards her, entirely forgetting to notice that she was not wearing a rose. Almost uncontrollably I made one step closer to her, and then I saw Hollis Maynell.

She was standing almost directly behind the girl. A woman well past 40, she had graying hair tucked under a worn hat. She was more than plump, her thick-ankle feet thrust into low-heeled shoes.

The girl in the green suit was walking quickly away. I felt as though I was split in two, so keen was my desire to follow her, and yet so deep was my longing for the woman whose spirit had truly companioned me and upheld my own.

And there she stood. Her pale, plump face was gentle and sensible; her gray eyes had a warm and kindly twinkle. I did not hesitate. My fingers gripped the small worn blue leather copy of the book that was to identify me to her.

This would not be love, but it would be something precious, something perhaps even better than love, a friendship for which I had been and must ever be grateful. I squared my shoulders and saluted and held out the book to the woman, even though while I spoke I felt choked by the bitterness of my disappointment. “I’m Lieutenant John Blanchard, and you must be Miss Maynell. I am so glad you could meet me; may I take you to dinner?”

The woman’s face broadened into a tolerant smile.

“I don’t know what this is about, son,” she answered, “but the young lady in the green suit who just went by, she begged me to wear this rose on my coat. And she said if you were to ask me out to dinner, I should tell you that she is waiting for you in the big restaurant across the street. She said it was some kind of test.”

Working Life

I've been loving high school life since F1 and I know working life would be a lengthy same dull routine each day. Well, of course that depends on what job you're working on, and mostly office hour job benefits best coz it has standard working hours.

All my time's used up on standing and promoting cny decorative items. Of course what I did each day was like : Wake up, eat, work, break,go home, online, sleep. Next day : wake up, eat work break, go home, online, sleep. My gawd, luckily I'm not gonna do this forever. My job stops on the 7th of February. Till then I can't wait to get my salary, the hard-earned money which I can spend all up within few hours, trust me.. I can do that LOL.

And sorry I posted these pictures late. I went for a gathering with ade, mavis, sam, ash,kt,nat, andrea and nian zle last Tuesday on the 18th Jan. I had a great time. :)

The Most Precious Thing

Long ago a young man and young woman fell in love with each other and decided to get married. They had almost no money, but their trust in each other gave them faith that their future together will be bright, as long as they had each other.

Before the wedding, the girl came to her fiancĂ© with a request. “I cannot imagine our ever wanting to be apart,” she said. “But it may be that time, we will tire of each other, or that you will be angry with me, and want to send me to my parents’ house. Promise me that if this happens, you will allow me to carry back with me the thing that has grown most precious to me.”

Her fiancĂ© laughed, and could see no sense in what she asked, but the girl was not satisfied until he had written down his promise and signed his name to it. Then the two were married and began their life together.

They set their minds to improve their worldly position. They were both willing to work hard at it, and soon their patient industry found reward. Their first successes made them even more determined to put poverty behind them, and they worked harder than ever before.

Time passed, and they became comfortable, then well-to-do, and finally rich. They moved to a bigger house, found a new set of friends, and surrounded themselves with all the trappings of fortune.

But in their single-minded pursuit of wealth, they began to think more of their things than of each other. More and more, they quarreled about what to buy, or how much to spend, or how they should go about increasing their richness.

One afternoon, as they were preparing a feast for several important friends, they argued about some trivial matter-the flavour of the gravy, or perhaps the order of seating at the table. They began shouting at, and accusing each other.

“You care nothing for me!” cried the husband. “You think only of yourself, and the jewels and fine clothes you wear. Take those that are most precious to you, as I promised, and go back to your parents’ house. There is no point in our going on together.”

His wife went suddenly pale, and stared at him with a distracted look in her eyes, as if she had just seen something for the first time.

“Very well,” she said quietly. “I am willing to go. But we must stay together one more night, and sit side by side at our table, for the sake of appearances in front of our friends.

The evening arrived. The feast began. It was bountiful as their ample means allowed. When, one by one, the guest had succumbed to its influence, and her husband, too, had fallen asleep, the good woman had him carried to her parents’ cottage and laid in bed there.

When he woke up the next morning, he could not understand where he was. He raised himself up on his elbow to look about him, and at once his wife came to the bedside.

“My dear husband,” she said softly, “your promise was that if you ever sent me away I might carry with me the thing that was most precious to me. You are that most precious thing. I care for you more than anything else and nothing but death shall part us.”

At once the man saw how selfishly they had both acted. That same day they returned home and began to devote themselves once again to each other.

Suspicious Turtle

A turtle family decided to go on a picnic. The turtles, being naturally slow about things, took 7years to prepare for their outing. Finally the turtle family left home looking for a suitable place. During the second year of their journey they found a place ideal for them at last!

For about six months they cleaned the area, unpacked the picnic basket, and completed the arrangement. Then they discovered they had forgotten the salt. A picnic without salt would be a disaster, they all agreed.

After a lengthy discussion, the youngest turtle was chosen to retrieve the salt from home. Although he was the fastest of the slow-moving turtles, the little turtle whined, cried, and wobbled in his shell. He agreed to go on one condition: that no one would eat until he returned. The family consented and the little turtle left.

3 years passed and the little turtle had not returned. 5 years…. 6 years…. Then on the 7th year of his absence, the oldest turtle could no longer contain his hunger. He announced that he was going to eat and begun to unwrap a sandwich.

At that point the little turtle suddenly popped out from behind a tree, shouting, “See! I knew you wouldn’t wait. Now I am not going to get the salt.”

Life after 17

One thing I enjoy most is I don't have to drag myself outta bed every morning at 5am anymore. No rules no regulations. But I really missed high school though. Oh yea, I had a freaky dream last night. I was back to school for my spm result. Miss Khoo was busy announcing everyone's result, including mine of course.
"Ah, Phaik Kee, English got A+ and Bm you got a B. The rest all grade U," she said nonchalantly.
I was like wtf? Which hole does grade U come out from? I almost cry in my sleep for heaven's sake. I really hope no more dreams about my SPM result no matter good dreams or bad ones. LOL.

Working has been okay so far. At least I'm happier compared to the time when I worked at Parkson. I need my salary badly! And I want two or three days off for shopping! *groan* I hope my sale over target then I can earn more money to shop!! I can't wait to unleashed my maniacally, shopaholic manner!
